Can this review be removed?
Airbnb and Google only remove reviews that break their own rules. Send us the review: we check it against the actual policy, draft the removal request citing the exact rule, and tell you honestly when it won't work.
Straight answer first: most bad reviews can't be removed. Both platforms deliberately keep harsh but genuine reviews up. If yours is one of those, we'll say so, and help you answer it well instead.

What Airbnb will remove
From Airbnb's Reviews Policy. You submit the request yourself through your host dashboard or Airbnb support; we prepare it.
| Reason | What it means | What decides it |
|---|---|---|
| Extortion | The guest threatened a bad review to get a refund, compensation or something else they weren't owed | Your messages with the guest |
| Irrelevant | The guest never stayed, cancelled for unrelated reasons, or reviewed something other than your listing | The reservation record |
| Retaliatory | The guest broke a rule, was told so, and then reviewed you because of it | The violation and when they were notified |
| Fake or competitive | Not from a real reservation, or written by someone competing with or connected to the listing | Booking details, proof of the connection |
| Content | Discriminatory, explicit, harmful or illegal content | The review text |
Not removed: disagreeing with the stars, things outside your control (Airbnb's own example is neighbourhood noise), or the guest's honest opinion of the stay.
What Google will remove
From Google's Maps content policy. You report it through your Business Profile or Google's Reviews Management Tool, and you get one appeal if it's refused.
| Reason | What it means |
|---|---|
| Conflict of interest | Written by a competitor, a current or former employee, or family |
| Not a real experience | Fake, or posted for an incentive |
| Off-topic | A general, political or social rant that isn't about your business |
| Harassment or personal information | Threats, or naming or showing a member of staff without consent |
| Offensive | Attacks on people or groups, or an unproven accusation of a crime |
Not removed: a genuine customer's negative opinion, however unfair it feels.
The detail that often matters most: did the guest or customer mention a refund, compensation or a discount in any message before the review? If they linked the two, that's often the strongest ground there is. Check your messages before anything else.
Questions
Can Airbnb remove a bad review?
Only if it breaks Airbnb's Reviews Policy: for example a review used to extort a refund, a review from someone who never stayed, a retaliatory review after the guest was told they broke a rule, or content that is discriminatory or harmful. A negative but genuine review, or one about things outside the host's control such as neighbourhood noise, is not removed.
Can Google remove a review from my business profile?
Only if it breaks Google's Maps content policy: for example a review from a competitor or a former employee (conflict of interest), a review not based on a real experience, an off-topic rant, harassment, personal information or an unsubstantiated accusation of a crime. A genuine customer's negative opinion stays up.
Is removal guaranteed?
No. Both Airbnb and Google make the decision themselves and say a request does not guarantee removal. What we can do is tell you whether your review plausibly qualifies, cite the exact rule, and make sure you attach the evidence that decides these cases.
What if my review cannot be removed?
We tell you so plainly, with the reason, and the pack gives you the best public reply instead, plus what the review actually costs your rating. If you would rather not have that, ask and we will refund you.
Are you connected to Airbnb or Google?
No. StellarReply is independent. We work from Airbnb's and Google's published policies, and you submit the request yourself through their official tools.
What you send us is used only to prepare your check or pack. See our privacy policy.
