How the 14 days actually work
The window opens the moment the reservation checks out and runs for 14 days. Both sides get the same 14 days, and the clock is not affected by when the booking was made, how long the stay was, or whether the other party has written anything yet.
Airbnb runs a blind review system, which is the part people find confusing. Neither side can see the other's review while the window is open. The two are revealed together at whichever of these comes first:
- Both parties submit. The reviews publish straight away, which can be within hours of checkout if you are both quick.
- The 14 days expire. Whatever was submitted publishes then. If only one side wrote a review, it publishes alone.
So a review you submitted on day one may sit invisible for a fortnight, and nothing has gone wrong. It is waiting for the other side or for the clock.

What happens when the deadline passes
There is no extension. Once the 14 days are up the option to write a review disappears, and Airbnb does not reopen it. Asking support will not bring it back. If you have missed it, the only thing left is to message the other party directly, which is worth doing for the relationship but does nothing for anyone's rating.
This matters more for hosts than most realise. A stay that would have earned 5 stars and never got reviewed does not hurt your average, but it does not help it either, and the whole problem with the 4.8 Superhost line is how slowly the number moves. The exact hour, and why nobody agrees on it
This is the question that sends people to forums, and the honest answer is that Airbnb does not publish the precise cut-off time or the timezone it applies. Reports differ, which is what you would expect when the rule is not documented.
Treat the fourteenth day as the last full day you have, and submit before it rather than during it. There is no advantage to waiting, and the downside of being wrong about the cut-off is permanent. The calculator above shows the fourteenth day as the deadline for that reason.

The same 14 days apply when you review a guest, and the same blind system hides your words until they publish. Writing early has one practical benefit: it prompts the guest, because Airbnb reminds them that a review is waiting.
