When Is the Next Airbnb Superhost Assessment?

Airbnb checks every host four times a year, on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July and 1 October. Status only changes on those days. Here is the next one, every date for 2026 and 2027, the 12-month window each covers, and exactly how many 5-star stays it takes to be back above 4.8 in time.

Every Superhost assessment date for 2026 and 2027

Each assessment looks back over the trailing 12 months ending the day before, and the result holds until the next assessment. Nothing you do between two dates changes your status until the second one arrives.

Airbnb does not publish a time of day for the check, so treat the end of the previous day as the cutoff. A review that lands on the morning of the assessment date may or may not be counted; one that lands the day before will be.

What is checked on the day

Four numbers, each measured over the 12-month window above. Miss any one and you do not hold Superhost for the following quarter.

• 4.8 or higher overall rating across the window's reviews.
• 90% or higher response rate to new enquiries and booking requests within 24 hours.
• Under 1% host cancellations, with limited exceptions for extenuating circumstances.
• 10 completed stays, or 3 reservations totalling at least 100 nights.

The rating is the one most hosts are closest to, and the only one whose recovery you can plan to the review. The Superhost requirements guide covers the other three in detail.

How many 5-star stays before the date?

If you are below 4.8, the number of consecutive 5-star stays needed to cross the line is fixed by your rating and review count. Enter both and the calculator solves it exactly, then divides by the days left to give the monthly pace you would need to make the next assessment.

A worked example. A listing with 60 reviews showing 4.72 has a star-sum of exactly 283, because no other whole number of stars produces that display. To reach 4.8 it needs 25 consecutive 5-star stays: 283 plus 125 is 408, over 85 reviews, which is 4.8 exactly. With 91 days between 1 October and 1 January, that is about 8 stays a month, all of them 5-star. For most single listings that is the assessment after, not the next one, and it is better to know that in September than in December.

The same listing would need 110 consecutive 5-star stays for the 4.9 Guest Favorite line, because there is only 0.1 of headroom above 4.9 instead of 0.2 above 4.8. The rating calculator shows both targets and what every possible next review would do to your number.

If you lost Superhost on assessment day

Losing the badge changes nothing about your listing's history and everything about the next 91 days. Three things are worth doing in the first week.

1. Find out which requirement failed. The email from Airbnb names it, and your host dashboard shows all four figures. A response-rate or cancellation miss recovers on its own as the window rolls forward; a rating miss needs a specific number of 5-star stays.
2. Work out the number, not the feeling. A listing at 4.76 with 100 reviews needs 20 consecutive 5-star stays. At 4.72 with 60 reviews it needs 25. The calculator above gives yours. If the pace required is more than your calendar can deliver by the next date, plan for the one after and stop treating each 4-star review as a crisis.
3. Protect the reviews you are about to get. The fastest way to lose a 5-star stay is a guest who felt ignored. Reply to every review, answer messages inside the hour where you can, and fix whichever category is dragging the overall figure. The category-by-category guide covers what moves each one.

Being above the line is not safety either. A 40-review listing at 4.85 cannot absorb a single 1-star review without dropping below 4.8. The calculator shows your own buffer as soon as you enter a rating above the target.

When is the next Airbnb Superhost assessment?

What period does each Superhost assessment cover?

Do I lose Superhost status as soon as my rating drops below 4.8?

How long after the assessment date does Superhost status update?

The badge and the email confirming or removing status usually arrive within a few days of the assessment date. Airbnb does not publish an exact time of day, so treat the end of the previous day as the cutoff for reviews to count.

Does the assessment use the rating shown on my listing?

No. The rating on your public listing averages every review you have ever received. The assessment uses the trailing 12 months only, which the public page does not show. Your host dashboard shows the 12-month figure Airbnb actually uses.

Can a new host qualify at their first assessment?

Yes. There is no minimum time as a host. You qualify at the first assessment where you meet all four requirements over the trailing 12 months: a 4.8 rating, a 90% response rate, under 1% host cancellations, and 10 completed stays or 3 reservations totalling 100 nights.

If I lost Superhost on 1 October, when can I get it back?

At the next assessment on 1 January, if all four requirements are met over the 12 months ending 31 December.
